The problem

Good numbers start with a measured yard.

Why landscape contractors look for a SynkedUP alternative

SynkedUP is built around knowing your numbers. Budgeting and overhead recovery, estimating templates with your production rates, job costing, timesheets and a financial coach are all part of the package, and contractors who use it well price with real margins.

What SynkedUP does not list is measuring. Its pricing page and feature pages cover templates, proposals, scheduling, routing, time tracking and invoicing, but there is no satellite or aerial takeoff. Square footage and linear feet still come from a measuring wheel, a site walk or a free map tool, and then get typed into the template.

That is where contractors start shopping. The other reasons we hear:

  • $399 to $599 a month is a big commitment for a two or three person company that mainly needs better bids
  • A one-time $1,000 activation fee on monthly billing, and no free trial before you pay it
  • Crew scheduling, payroll timesheets and invoicing already live in another tool or in QuickBooks
  • Drive-outs to measure small enhancement jobs that never close

How it works

Measure, price and send from one screen.

How LandscapeEstimating handles the estimate from address to signature

The measuring step that SynkedUP leaves to you is the first step here.

  • Search the US property address and trace turf, beds, hardscape, walls and edging on the satellite map, with square feet and linear feet shown as you draw
  • Each traced layer maps to a service in your cost library, with materials, labor rate, production rate, equipment, disposal, overhead and target margin
  • Assemblies on Company and above turn an area into full lines, for example a patio outline becomes base tons, sand, pavers with waste, compaction and labor hours
  • Count shrubs, trees, lights or boulders with single clicks, and each count prices from the library item
  • The branded proposal goes out with good, better and best options, the client signs online, and on Company you send a deposit request link once it is signed
  • Signed work exports to QuickBooks Online as invoice lines on Company, and job costing compares estimated hours with actual hours

The full arithmetic on a real property is on the landscaping estimate example page.

SynkedUP pricing compared with LandscapeEstimating

SynkedUP publishes its prices. These figures are from synkedup.com/pricing, checked in October 2026; confirm them with SynkedUP before you buy.

PlanMonthlyYearly, per monthUsersActivation fee
SynkedUP Standard$399$3592, then $20 each$1,000 on monthly only
SynkedUP PRO$599$5395, then $20 each$1,000 on monthly only
LandscapeEstimating Crew$129$642 estimator seatsNone
LandscapeEstimating Company$299$1496 estimator seatsNone
LandscapeEstimating Operations$649$32415 estimator seatsNone

On monthly billing, SynkedUP Standard costs $4,788 in subscriptions plus the $1,000 activation fee in year one, so $5,788. Billed yearly it is $4,308. LandscapeEstimating Company billed yearly is $1,788 with six estimator seats and satellite measuring included. Every SynkedUP login past the plan limit is $20 a month, so a company that gives crew leads their own logins for time tracking pays more than the base price.

Quantities first, then labor and margin.

Pricing hardscape and landscape installs from a satellite trace

Take a backyard job: a 340 square foot paver patio, 620 square feet of new beds, 180 linear feet of steel edging and 14 shrubs. You trace the patio and beds, draw the edging line and drop 14 pins, all before you leave the office.

LineQuantity from the mapWhat the library adds
Paver patio340 sq ftBase depth in tons, bedding sand, pavers with 5% waste, compaction, labor hours
Bed prep and mulch at 3 in.620 sq ft, 5.7 cu yd10% waste, delivery, man-hours from your spread rate
Steel edging180 linear ftMaterial per foot, stakes, install rate
Shrubs, 3 gallon14 piecesPlant cost, planting labor, soil amendment

Every line carries your labor rate, overhead recovery and target margin, so two estimators pricing the same yard land on the same number. If the client cuts the patio to 280 square feet, you drag the outline and the base, pavers and labor reprice together. The landscape construction estimating software page goes deeper on walls, grading and hardscape.

Who it's for

Contractors whose bottleneck is the bid.

Who picks LandscapeEstimating over SynkedUP

  • Owner-operators and small crews who want measured, margin-checked bids without a $5,000-plus first year
  • Hardscape and design-build contractors who quote from the office and want square feet off the satellite map instead of a site walk
  • Companies that already run scheduling, timesheets and payroll in Jobber, Service Autopilot or QuickBooks and only need the estimating side replaced
  • Offices that want to try the estimator on a real property before they book a sales call

If you want scheduling, crew time and invoicing in the same platform, SynkedUP, Aspire and LMN all cover that; our Aspire alternative and LMN alternative pages compare those honestly. If you are still choosing a phone app for the truck, see the app for landscapers page.

Where SynkedUP wins: if you want one platform for estimating, scheduling, crew time, payroll reports and invoicing, with a coach to set up your overhead budget, SynkedUP covers more of the business. Where we win: the measurement itself, done from satellite imagery in minutes, priced from your rates, at a lower monthly cost and with no activation fee. The landscape measuring software page shows how a trace becomes a priced line.

FAQ

What is SynkedUP software?

SynkedUP is business management software built for landscape contractors. It covers budgeting and overhead recovery, estimating templates, proposals with e-signatures, scheduling, routing, crew time tracking, job costing, invoicing with card payments and QuickBooks Online sync, plus access to a financial coach.

How much does SynkedUP cost?

SynkedUP Standard is $399 a month or $359 a month billed yearly with 2 users included. PRO is $599 a month or $539 a month billed yearly with 5 users. Extra users are $20 a month each, and monthly billing carries a one-time $1,000 activation fee that yearly billing does not.

Does SynkedUP have a free trial?

No. SynkedUP's pricing page says it does not offer a free trial and offers a call and a walkthrough video instead. LandscapeEstimating has an open estimator demo on the home page where you trace a property and price it without a card.

Does SynkedUP measure properties from satellite?

SynkedUP does not list satellite or aerial measuring on its pricing or feature pages. Quantities go into its estimating templates by hand. LandscapeEstimating measures turf, beds, hardscape and edging on satellite imagery and prices each layer from your cost library.

What is a cheaper alternative to SynkedUP?

For contractors whose main need is accurate bids, LandscapeEstimating starts at $129 a month, or $64 a month billed yearly, with satellite measuring, a cost library and e-signed proposals and no activation fee. It does not replace SynkedUP's scheduling, timesheets or payroll reports.

Can I use LandscapeEstimating with SynkedUP or QuickBooks?

Yes. Some contractors measure and price in LandscapeEstimating and keep scheduling elsewhere. On Company and above, signed proposals export to QuickBooks Online as invoice lines, so the accepted bid reaches your books without retyping.
